I own one of these modern mobile phones that have some decent USB functionality. As a bonus (or maybe something we should expect?), you can use the USB connection as a power supply to recharge the battery. I've been using it recently and I noticed something: Even if the battery indicator goes to 100%, the battery seems to discharge a lot faster than when fully charged using the standard mains charger.
This probably has to do with battery charge measurement calibration. USB can only provide 5W power, if I recall, so it may not be able to actually top the battery off. I guess this has some influence on the measurement process.
