Simulating Film in GIMP
I've been looking for a way to recreate the analog film feel in my digital photos. There's a lot of cool stuff available, including several vintage photo effect tutorials and scripts. However for a more natural, realistic effect I'd recommend trying out the Silicosaur PhotoFX scripts. I did a simple comparison image (in GIMP, of course):
